Visiting Scholars Programme

The Visiting Fellows Programme furthers the Africa Regional Sexuality Resource Centre's commitment to increase Africa-focused research and publications on sexuality issues, as well as build links between scholars and practitioners working in this area in Africa.

Programme Goal

ARSRC offers one to four months-long residential fellowships to suitable candidates from Africa. The scholars contribute to knowledge building through critical thinking and research, and facilitate information and knowledge dissemination through seminars and publications.

During their stay at ARSRC, the scholars review several ARSRC materials, give presentations and complete a paper focused on conceptual, contextual or methodological issues in the field of sexuality.

Sponsorship Details

The sponsorship covers the scholar’s roundtrip, economy airfare and/or ground transportation, single-room accommodation, health insurance and a monthly stipend to cover living expenses, supplies, communication and local transportation costs. A fully-equipped office is also provided, as well as access to the ARSRC’s well-stocked sexuality library.
